Operations Director

Habitat for Humanity Bay-Waveland Area is seeking a principled and creative leader to
position the affiliate for continued success in its next 20 years and beyond. Since 2006,
Habitat Bay-Waveland has built more than 225 new homes, completed over 654 critical
home repairs, and 202+ weatherization projects in Hancock and Pearl River counties in
Coastal Mississippi. Working in close partnership with the affiliate Board of Directors
and staff, the Operations Director of the affiliate will play a pivotal role in leading the
organization and ensuring its mission is carried out.

Operations Director Responsibilities
Leadership: The Operations Director is responsible for essential affiliate management
and public accountability of the organization.
Financial Management: The Operations Director works with the Board of Directors to ensure the affiliate maintains a solid fiscal foundation within a balanced budget and
within all applicable Habitat for Humanity rules as well as federal and state laws.
Development: The Operations Director is the lead fundraiser, with the support of the
Board Board of Directors.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement: The Operations Director engages with
volunteers, religious, business, civic and volunteer organizations as well as other
government and non-government housing and human services organizations.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be passionate about Habitat for Humanity’s mission. The
skills needed for this position span leadership, strategy, operational management,
financial acumen, and community engagement. While each candidate will bring their
own combination of skills and experience, the following qualifications represent areas
important to the search committee.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies
● Proven experience in fundraising
● Ability to build, lead, and motivate a diverse team, including staff, volunteers, and
board members
● Knowledge of project management including timelines and budget management
● Proficient with Microsoft suite and social media
● An understanding of affordable housing issues
This position is a full-time, on-site position in Bay St Louis, MS.
Minimum starting salary is $65K.
